About the Role:

As a Concrete Quality Assurance Technician, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and longevity of concrete utilized in various construction endeavors. Your primary responsibilities will include regular site visits to gather samples and conduct a range of tests on concrete mixtures, collaborating closely with engineers, contractors, and other professionals in the field. A solid understanding of concrete properties and testing methodologies is essential, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tests on concrete mixtures to evaluate properties such as slump, air content, temperature, and density;
  • Conduct compression tests on concrete cylinders to determine strength characteristics;
  • Perform daily site visits to collect concrete samples;
  • Maintain precise records of all testing procedures and outcomes;
  • Ensure adherence to relevant codes, specifications, and regulations;
  • Carry out general laboratory tasks, including the operation and upkeep of testing equipment;
  • Work outdoors and adapt to varying weather conditions;
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Educational background in civil engineering technology or a related field;
  • Knowledge in concrete technology is a plus;
  • CCIL certification is advantageous but not mandatory;
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes;
  • Proficiency in operating concrete testing equipment such as slump cones, air meters, and compression machines;
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with various stakeholders;
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities;
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documenting and reporting test results;
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively;
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required;
  • Physical capability to lift and transport testing equipment;
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
