Child Care Support Specialist Job Overview

A Child Care Support Specialist plays a crucial role in nurturing and supporting children when their parents are unavailable. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the health, safety, and development of children.

Key Qualifications:
  • Completion of secondary education
  • 2-3 years of relevant child care experience
Core Responsibilities:
  • Take full charge of the household in the absence of parents
  • Perform light cleaning and housekeeping tasks
  • Accompany the family on trips and assist with child supervision
  • Assist with bathing, dressing, and feeding of infants and children
  • Implement discipline strategies as directed by parents
  • Guide children in personal hygiene and social skills
  • Ensure a safe and healthy living environment
  • Plan and organize engaging activities and outings for children
  • Prepare and serve healthy meals
  • Supervise and provide care for children
  • Support the emotional well-being of children
  • Assist children with their homework
Additional Considerations:
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada
  • Willingness to relocate may be required
  • Prior experience in child care is preferred
  • This is a permanent position with a commitment of 40 hours per week
  • Proficiency in English is necessary
