Job Title: Early Childhood Educator - Child Care Centre

Fulton Child Care Association is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at our child care centre in an urban area. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess children's development and create learning plans tailored to their needs.
  • Assist co-workers with housekeeping and cooking duties.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support children's development.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and ensure a safe environment.
  • Lead activities, such as storytelling, singing, and outings, to promote children's development.
  • Encourage children's creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or guardians.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss children's progress and problems.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects children's health, security, and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Child development assistant (ECE level 1) or higher certification.
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification.
  • Basic security clearance and criminal record check.
  • Own transportation.
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, punctuality, dependability, flexibility, and team player qualities.
