Position Overview

FortisBC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineering Co-op student to join our team for an 8-month term. As a key member of our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects related to the design and operation of our gas system.

Responsibilities

As an Electrical Engineering Co-op student, you will assist our Electrical Engineer with a wide range of technical functions, including:

  • Researching and developing complex technical solutions for instrumentation measurement and control communications and electrical systems.
  • Maintaining liaison with other FortisBC departments, field staff, consultants, manufacturers, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Preparing schedules and progress reports, monitoring progress, issuing drawings, initiating correspondence, and maintaining project records and files.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering program with an Electrical focus, in your third or fourth year, and be part of a Co-op program. You must also have a valid driver's license and current abstract.

Other Qualifications

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about the energy industry and have a knack for public speaking. You should be able to effectively communicate with a variety of people and have experience with CAD applications. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is also an asset.
