Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dynamic Emergency team at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent part-time opportunity with a 0.61 FTE. Shifts will be scheduled days and nights, rotating from 07:30 to 19:45 and 19:30 to 07:45 hours. You will work collaboratively with our High Acuity Response Team and BC Ambulance Services to transport patients from lower acuity sites to our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Perform assessments and develop care plans for patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications in accordance with pharmaceutical and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Operate within the scope of practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and organizational policies.
About the Team

Our Emergency Department is a tertiary referral hospital with 18 beds, 2 trauma bays, and a clinical decision area. We treat 75,000 patients per year and see a broad spectrum of patients in age and acuity. Due to our geographical location and outdoor activities, we see a large number of trauma cases.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Two (2) years recent related experience in an acute care setting.
