In this role, you will play a vital part in providing comprehensive nutritional care and guidance to clients navigating the complexities of these challenging conditions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough nutritional assessments, including diet histories, growth chart analysis, and determination of healthy weight ranges for clients.
  • Collaborate with clients individually to understand their eating disorder and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs.
  • Work closely with families and caregivers to provide nutritional education and support, empowering them to actively participate in the client's recovery journey.
  • Educate clients on the profound impact of nutrition on both physical and mental well-being, fostering a deeper understanding of its role in recovery.
  • Monitor client progress meticulously, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes and address evolving needs.
  • Foster strong collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team, including medical staff, therapists, and support personnel, to create a cohesive and supportive environment for clients.
  • Maintain detailed records of client progress and treatment goals, ensuring clear documentation and continuity of care.
  • Guide clients in developing healthy coping mechanisms to manage stress and triggers, promoting resilience and long-term well-being.
  • Promote body positivity and self-acceptance, empowering clients to cultivate a healthy relationship with their bodies and food.
  • Assist clients in overcoming fears surrounding food and eating, fostering a sense of confidence and control over their dietary choices.
  • Develop individualized meal plans that meet the specific nutritional needs of each client, ensuring balanced and nourishing meals.
  • Support clients during transitions, including returning home and navigating different levels of care within the system, providing ongoing guidance and support.

Your Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) qualification is essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of eating disorder etiology and evidence-based treatment approaches, including Family-Based Therapy (FBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
  • Experience working with clients in a mental health setting, particularly those with eating disorders, is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead groups and facilitate individual assessments effectively.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work seamlessly as part of a multidisciplinary team.
