Dietitian - Nutrition Expert

About the Role:
Calgary Co-op is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Registered Dietitian to provide science-based dietary and nutritional information to members. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating personalized nutrition plans, conducting health and nutrition seminars, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote whole health solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nutrition care plans for members, taking into account their individual needs and health goals.
- Conduct health and nutrition seminars, workshops, and one-on-one consultations to educate members on healthy eating habits and lifestyle changes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and community organizations, to promote whole health solutions and support members in achieving their health goals.
- Provide science-based dietary guidance and nutritional education to members, including product and culinary demonstrations.
- Assist members in understanding nutrition labels and making informed food choices.
- Conduct assessments of members' nutritional status and requirements.
- Develop and implement nutrition education programs for members, including in-store education, brochures, articles, and websites.
- Work with members, families, communities, and other professionals to help Calgarians achieve and maintain good health.
- Conduct food and nutrition research in academic and practical work settings to promote up-to-date, evidence-based professional practice and service.
- Collect payments when required.
- Provide leadership and be a Subject Matter Expert for all whole health solutions.
- Be willing to travel locally and abroad as required for business, training, or functions.
- Participate in the development and action of yearly competency performance work plan(s) and development action plan(s). Assist in ensuring the workplace is safe in the areas of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and Food Safety procedures, legislation and policies including participate in HSE activities, assist in identifying unhealthy, unsafe situations and corrective action is taken.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree, or postgraduate qualification in dietetics.
- Excellent business acumen and customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interact, establish and maintain good rapport with all stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to problem solve and network for job efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strong leadership, teamwork and influencing skills.
- Be a champion of change management.
- Must have reliable transportation and must be able to work retail hours.
