Job Description

At Safran Landing Systems, we are seeking a skilled Tool Designer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the industrialization of aircraft steering kits and the development of new and existing machine tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop machining and assembling tools, fixtures, and jigs, as well as cutting and inspection tools, and test fixtures.
  • Design special processing and material handling equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Redesign and improve existing tools as required, adhering to principles of design for safety, cost, and quality.
  • Support manufacturing process improvements through innovative design input on new tooling and modification of existing tooling.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, CNC programmers, tool & die makers, and machinists to ensure designed tools meet original requirements and end-user needs.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in the design of complex tools for CNC metal cutting machinery and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Proficiency in CATIA v5 software and SmarTeam v5 software.
  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Ability to visualize drawings and objects, with good communication and project management skills.
