Procurement Consultant Opportunity

Altis Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Consultant to join our client within the Broader Public Sector on an 18-month contract. The successful candidate will support the procurement function and provide guidance and recommendations to management on how to best adhere to Ontario government procurement directives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to management on compliance with government procurement directives and best practices within the public sector.
  • Collaborate with the team to create and prepare procurement templates and documents for tender issuance.
  • Monitor procurement timelines closely to ensure adherence and successful completion.
  • Execute, service, and award procurements, ensuring fairness throughout the process.
  • Oversee the evaluation process, ensuring transparency and fairness, and notify successful candidates.
  • Offer procurement advice to stakeholders and senior management, supporting the interpretation of policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Develop and implement automated tools to streamline procurement processes.
  • Ensure that the tender process aligns with procurement rules and legal requirements, providing vendors with a fair, competitive, and transparent procurement opportunity.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of procurement and sourcing experience within the public sector.
  • Supply Chain Management Professional designation is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, procurement practices, and the full procurement life cycle.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement software such as MERX and Biddingo.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario government procurement legislation, Vendor of Records, policies, and procurement trends.
  • Knowledge of how to automate receipt of vendors' invoices such as use of electronic payments.
