About the Role

Simon Fraser University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director, Indigenous Pathways Programs. This position will play a critical role in advancing the university's commitment to reconciliation and promoting Indigenous student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve Indigenous student pathways and success
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, faculties, student services, and community partners to advance Indigenous student success
  • Provide leadership and direction to Indigenous student services and programs
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support Indigenous student services and programs
  • Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to support Indigenous student success
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to Indigenous students and staff
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in Indigenous student success and reconciliation
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in Indigenous student services and programs
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful Indigenous student pathways and programs
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with Indigenous communities and organizations
  • Knowledge of Indigenous cultural identities and values
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
