Position Overview: As a Mechanical Design Engineer at Brave Control Solutions Inc., you will collaborate with a team to create and innovate automation solutions tailored for manufacturing operations across diverse sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and adjust CAD models according to client specifications utilizing various software platforms such as Inventor, Catia, Unigraphics, FIDES, AutoCad, and Solidworks.
- Assess design hours required for tool concepts, ensuring timely design and release of original content and modifications.
- Generate layout and detailed drawings in alignment with project schedules, crafting inventive engineering solutions that fulfill or surpass client expectations.
- Analyze customer specifications, engineering diagrams, and related data to establish the necessary design protocols for producing digital and/or printed outputs pertinent to engineering and manufacturing needs.
- Conduct essential engineering calculations and select appropriate materials to achieve the desired design performance.
- Oversee any structural and/or finite element analyses needed to evaluate the functionality of the designed tools.
- Facilitate the creation of part drawings, including CAD representations, through collaboration with other designers, whether internal or outsourced, to effectively manage the comprehensive design of assigned tools.
- Engage closely with senior designers and/or peers on design modifications aimed at enhancing manufacturability, maintainability, and serviceability of equipment.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant discipline.
- Willingness and ability to travel to client facilities across North America.
- A minimum of 5 years of direct experience and proven skills in Concepting, 3-D Design, and 2-D Detailing for manufacturing and assembly tooling.
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors: automotive, aerospace, construction, or heavy equipment manufacturing.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as project and client needs arise.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication abilities.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with colleagues and personnel from other departments.
