About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Floor Covering Installer to join our team at SSK Construction Ltd. as a permanent employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Surface Preparation: Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Material Installation: Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding, as well as prepare and install hardwood floors.
  • Carpet Installation: Employ knee kickers and other equipment to stretch carpeting, and perform direct glue-down carpet installations.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Material Handling: Install vinyl decking materials, requiring a strong understanding of material properties and installation techniques.
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Work Conditions: This role is physically demanding, requiring prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
  • Physical Capabilities: The successful candidate must be able to lift heavy materials and equipment, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language and Communication: Fluency in English is required, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Work Schedule: The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, with a regular schedule and opportunities for overtime.
