Position Overview
This role is integral to our operations, allowing flexibility in work location, whether from home, a NORR office, or a remote setting. NORR is a globally recognized, employee-owned architecture and engineering firm with a diverse team of 800 professionals engaged in various market sectors across Canada, the US, UK, and UAE. For over 85 years, design thinking has been central to our mission, as we strive to innovate and support both people and the environment.
Project Scope
Our experienced team assists public sector decision-makers throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning to design and execution. Our portfolio includes a wide range of public buildings, such as government facilities, embassies, cultural institutions, and museums.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine technical designs, ensuring that architectural drawings meet quality standards, project timelines, and budget constraints.
- Conduct design activities including programming, code research, material selection, and area calculations.
- Assess site conditions and perform necessary site surveys.
- Review project deliverables, including products, services, and shop drawings.
- Manage permit response letters and coordinate revisions with engineers and consultants to secure essential documentation and permits.
- Collaborate with contractors, sub-consultants, and relevant authorities to address constructability issues and client concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience across all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in architectural design software, including Revit and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of MEP and structural systems, as well as relevant building codes.
- Completion of related post-secondary education.
- Registration with a professional architectural association is advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- 5-7 years of relevant project experience.
- Experience with public building projects is preferred.
