About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shop Manager to join our team at First Student Canada-Transco. As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of our fleet, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students and passengers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and administer fleet maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and communicate with dispatch and operations personnel.
- Supervise shop staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Work closely with the location manager and region maintenance management to provide maintenance status and budget requirements.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and company regulations, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Review repair orders, order fuel and parts, and subcontract repair work as needed.
- Initiate and implement projects to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Supervise bus fueling and arrange services for building and ground keeping.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of hands-on mechanical supervisory experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical training preferred.
- Valid driver's license with required endorsements.
