Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Medicine Physician to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative and team-based environment.
  • Ensure the delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients, including routine check-ups, health screenings, and disease management.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination and continuum of patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities to enhance patient outcomes and healthcare services.
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
  • Work towards same day or next day access for the practice population.
  • Collaborate with other team members to best suit the community's health needs.
  • Participate in teaching medical students and family practice residents from Dalhousie Medical School.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
  • Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Emergency department experience is an asset.
  • College of Family Physicians of Canada ER certification would be considered an asset.
