Key Responsibilities:

Leadership
  • Work closely with the Board to develop and implement forward-thinking programs that enhance our operational capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Department Heads across various sectors, including Community Engagement, Education, and Administration, to create and execute comprehensive departmental strategies.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands and staffing requirements.
  • Provide visionary leadership and mentorship, overseeing recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Encourage a culture of open communication and support throughout the organization, fostering a positive work atmosphere.
Community Engagement
  • Develop a deep understanding of the community landscape, including member interactions and emerging trends.
  • Share insights from community outreach to inform strategic decisions and initiatives.
  • Enhance organizational impact through active member participation and collaboration.
  • Establish yourself as a respected leader within the community, amplifying the organization's influence.
  • Represent the organization in external engagements with stakeholders and media to promote our mission.
Program Management
  • Lead the development and execution of the annual operational plan and budget, guiding our administrative objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to established protocols and best practices.
  • Facilitate effective program implementation by following all necessary administrative and funding procedures.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and compliance with relevant regulations.
Funding and Compliance
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support the organization's initiatives, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Authorize departmental funding requests promptly to maximize resource availability.

A successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to community engagement and possess a deep understanding of Indigenous cultures. Ideally, you have experience in leadership roles within community organizations, with a focus on sustainable development.

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of leadership experience in public service or community-based organizations.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in team leadership and budget management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with self-motivation.
  • Positive attitude towards work-life balance.
  • Excellent project management capabilities with a history of achieving goals.
  • Proficient in administrative functions, including Microsoft Office, budgeting, and proposal development.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to pass background checks.
  • A willingness to learn about Indigenous communities and their unique contexts.
