About the Role

The Investment Specialist acts as a primary Wealth contact and is responsible for providing sound investment advice that increases Wealth related assets and revenue while being actively involved in business development initiatives that increase the visibility of FirstOntario Wealth in the market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Building
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their financial goals and develop personalized investment plans.
    • Conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure clients' investment portfolios align with their changing needs and goals.
  • Investment Advice and Planning
    • Provide expert investment advice and guidance to clients, taking into account their risk tolerance, financial situation, and investment objectives.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive investment plans that meet clients' needs and goals.
  • Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to increase revenue and grow the Wealth business.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including branch staff and other Wealth professionals, to support business growth and development.
  • Communication and Client Service
    • Communicate effectively with clients, both verbally and in writing, to ensure they understand their investment options and plans.
    • Provide exceptional client service, responding promptly to client inquiries and concerns.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and FirstOntario's policies and procedures.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with client investments and business activities.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Post-secondary diploma or degree in business, economics, or a finance-related field.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience as a licensed representative in the wealth management industry.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    • Valid Mutual Funds Licence or Securities Licence.
    • Registered Investment Specialist (RIS) certification.
    • PFP or CFP designation (or currently pursuing).
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong business acumen and sales skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.
