Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Technician is tasked with executing and supporting various quality control and inspection activities, ensuring compliance with all standards, processes, specifications, codes, and regulations to achieve maximum customer satisfaction.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Manager of Reliability and Quality
Work Schedule: 7x7
Additional Compensation: Premiums and allowances are applicable for this role due to specific conditions


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees and maintains the Quality Control program and associated documentation.
  • Conducts inspections of work in progress and upon completion to address recurring issues and identify root causes.
  • Coordinates documentation and quality assurance efforts to uphold quality objectives.
  • Assists in identifying process improvements and enhancements.
  • Performs inspections and authorizes project completions.
  • Documents processes to ensure consistency across projects.
  • Maintains collaborative relationships with external inspectors.
  • Manages welder records and logs, ensuring compliance with approved standards.
  • Provides quality control updates during production meetings as necessary.


Qualifications
  • Journeyperson trade certificate or equivalent experience with practical knowledge in supervising welding and fitting operations.
  • CET (welding) or similar experience.
  • Familiarity with CWB requirements is essential.
  • Ability to interpret engineering specifications accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in project documentation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team while also being self-sufficient in task completion.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and capability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Knowledge of SAP (preferred), Excel, Word, and email communication is required.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
