About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to join our team at the Manitoba Government. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing Information, Communications, and Technology (ICT) services and ensuring the successful completion and delivery of ICT Projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage project teams to deliver results and deliverables that meet scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Apply knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to manage and integrate all phases of projects: initiation, planning, execution, and control, and closure.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Manage and monitor project performance, including tracking progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners, to ensure project goals and objectives are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project sponsors, team members, and external partners.
  • Provide guidance and support to project team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver project results.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure project success.
  • Develop and implement project evaluation and review processes to ensure project success and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience leading projects and managing project teams.
  • Experience with project management methodologies, concepts, frameworks, and tools.
  • Experience managing project performance, including tracking progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Strong political and business acumen, with the ability to work in a diverse team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management, and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in contract management, managing vendors and/or service providers, and monitoring service levels and contract obligations.
  • PMP, Prince2, CSM Certified or similar.
