About the Role:

Savormetrics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to contribute to the development of Artificial Intelligence driven sensing solutions for the food and agriculture sector. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing AI platforms that leverage machine learning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of Savormetrics' Artificial Intelligence Platform
  • Lead the development of machine learning algorithms, including artificial neural networks, deep learning, self/auto learning, and SVMs for various customer applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement analytics software solutions for customers
  • Develop feature engineering techniques to enhance data quality and accuracy
  • Design and implement data collection and interpretation software solutions
  • Understand customer product requirements and design AI training and prediction models accordingly
  • Develop new algorithms for increased accuracy and efficiency using research/customer data sets
  • Manage and analyze large datasets for R&D and product development
  • Ensure optimal performance of software platforms used in conjunction with hardware devices
  • Build advanced domain knowledge of the business sectors being focused on
  • Design, execute, and report on commercial testing
  • Provide support in development and participation in workshops, conferences, and other events
  • Provide second-line support for customer issues
  • Collaborate effectively with all members of the team

Requirements:

  • High-functioning MASC or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of hands-on industry-related experience with machine learning, artificial neural networks, deep learning, statistical learning, pattern recognition, image processing, and chemometrics
  • Knowledge of image processing techniques and software/hardware interfacing
  • Experience in optics/scientific instrumentation space is beneficial
