Position Overview

Join the dynamic team at Black & McDonald Limited, where we are expanding our operations in Saskatchewan. We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative professional to take on the role of a Yard Coordinator. This position is essential for the effective organization and management of materials, equipment, and resources within our logistical yard. The Yard Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing inventory management, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Oversight: Maintain precise records of all equipment and supplies within the yard.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all yard activities adhere to relevant safety standards and company policies.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on yard machinery, including trailers and forklifts.
  • Operational Coordination: Oversee daily yard operations to ensure a smooth workflow and timely task completion.
  • Facility Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of outdoor facilities, including inspections and maintenance of structures and grounds.
  • Order Fulfillment: Execute order picking and packing to meet customer demands.
  • Tool Management: Oversee the tool management system and coordinate the logistics of tool cribs for site projects.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Manage shipping and receiving processes, including verifying incoming materials and maintaining accurate records.
  • Waste Management: Coordinate recycling and waste management initiatives.
  • Logistics Coordination: Facilitate purchase orders to support yard operations.
  • Documentation Management: Scan and log packing slips and related documents into the company ERP system.
  • Communication: Liaise with the operations team regarding all delivery schedules.
  • Team Collaboration: Engage with team members to foster a safe and productive working environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • 2-5 years of experience in yard operations coordination.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and familiarity with JD Edwards is an advantage.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery and equipment safely.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as necessary.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
