Job Title: Alumni Communications Officer

About the Role:

As an Alumni Communications Officer at York University, you will play a key role in promoting and communicating alumni and donor messages, as well as developing engaging content to foster a strong sense of community among our alumni and donors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write, produce, and disseminate communications materials to encourage positive alumni and donor relations within the University and to engage our growing community of alumni and donors.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Director, Alumni Communications and staff within the Division of Advancement to develop and implement effective communication strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a range of communications and marketing pieces, including publications, articles, digital and print communications, and multimedia communications.
  • Utilize advanced desktop publishing, photo editing, web design, and video publishing skills to create engaging and professional content.
  • Work effectively under pressure to meet high-volume and daily deadlines, while maintaining impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or Digital Communications.
  • Knowledge of fundraising professional standards and ethics is an asset.
  • Related work experience in a non-profit sector is an asset.
