Job Overview

The Engineer II will be responsible for completing detailed and conceptual drawings, working with the engineering team to validate specifications, and resolving supplier concerns. This role requires strong research and development skills, as well as the ability to document and capture all EDRs and ECRs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Product Research and Development:
    1. Develop detailed specifications and conceptual drawings
    2. Collaborate with peers to validate specifications and drawings
    3. Address supplier concerns and resolve issues
    4. Document and capture all EDRs and ECRs
    5. Conduct research on vehicle platforms using available tools
    6. Prepare and update DFMEA, DVP, and engineering standards
  2. Quality Management:
    1. Analyze root causes to improve current products
    2. Identify opportunities for improvement and re-evaluate products
    3. Review and compile testing data to quantify improvements
  3. Departmental Development:
    1. Onboard and train new team members
    2. Guide and develop team members' technical abilities
    3. Review and address errors, and guide the team
    4. Document and update current engineering specifications and standards
    5. Contribute to Mevotech engineering standards and process improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in automotive component design
  • Previous experience in bearing design is an asset
  • Proven experience working with AutoCAD Inventor
  • Proven experience with APQP
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Previous experience with Product Life Management Software is an asset
