Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Lead to oversee the maintenance and performance of mechanical systems at Westpower Equipment Ltd. This is a permanent position requiring a strong background in mechanical engineering.

Work Environment

The role involves working at various locations, ensuring that all mechanical systems are functioning optimally. The successful candidate will work a standard 40-hour week.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research to assess the feasibility and performance of mechanical components and systems.
  • Design and develop power plants, machinery, and equipment.
  • Supervise the installation and inspection of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Establish maintenance standards, schedules, and programs to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Investigate mechanical failures and unexpected maintenance challenges.
  • Plan and manage projects, including preparing estimates, reports, and design specifications.
  • Prepare and evaluate contract documents and tenders for industrial projects.
  • Commission systems and components to ensure optimal functionality.
Supervisory Role

This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Technical Expertise
  • Experience with turbines and pumps is essential.
  • Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and inspection of mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and control processes.
Travel Requirements

The candidate must be willing to travel as needed for project requirements.
