Position Summary

Responsibilities
  • Bring enthusiasm and dedication to various program areas within the College's School of Engineering Technology and Trades, including:
    • Aerospace Manufacturing
    • Industrial/Advanced Manufacturing
    • Civil Engineering
    • Computer Programming and ICT
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Instrumentation Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Business for Engineering
    • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging courses and/or labs.
  • Facilitate student engagement in both traditional and distance learning environments, ensuring clarity regarding curriculum, academic progression, and assessment.
  • Create a supportive learning atmosphere that effectively utilizes available resources and incorporates diverse teaching strategies to accommodate various learning preferences.
  • Assess student progress and achievements through a range of evaluative methods.
  • Actively support and contribute to student success.
  • Guide, advise, and mentor students regarding course selections, career paths, and opportunities for further education.
  • Participate in the ongoing development of the School's programs.
  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • A postsecondary qualification (degree preferred) in a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise and progressively responsible experience in the applicable field.
  • Proficiency in both in-person instruction and online learning environments.

Preferred candidates will possess:

  • A Master's degree or a combination of education and experience (e.g., diploma/degree alongside a degree in Education and/or substantial industry experience).
  • Experience in teaching or training at the postsecondary or corporate level.
  • Familiarity with First Nations, Metis, and/or Inuit communities, particularly those within the College's catchment area.
  • Experience working with international students or colleagues.
  • A commitment to educational equity and the ability to teach diverse student populations.
  • Proven capability to thrive in a collaborative environment and a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Experience in curriculum or program development, including innovative teaching techniques.
  • Additional experience in alternative delivery methods, student success strategies, academic advising, adult learning theories, and educational technology is advantageous.

Successful candidates will be required to submit a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening prior to employment commencement.
