About the Role:

MPE Engineering Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineering Team Lead to join our team in Calgary, Lethbridge, or Edmonton office. As a key member of our Transportation group, you will be responsible for leading a bridge group and supporting other MPE offices and disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a bridge group, including planning, assessment, reporting, design, and inspection for bridge projects.
  • Prepare preliminary and detailed design calculations, technical reports, project specifications, and contract documents.
  • Develop structural details and construction plans, and perform structural analysis and design calculations.
  • Conduct design checks and quality audits of drawings and contract documents, and conduct site visits and inspections.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior engineers, technologists, and technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Civil or Structural Engineering degree from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.).
  • Over 10 years of experience in bridge design and experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code.
  • Demonstrated experience in bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, industry-standard bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of new bridges and rehabilitation or evaluation of existing bridges, steel and concrete structures.
  • Ability to work independently and interact well with other staff, and mentor junior staff.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
