Role Overview:
The Electrical Supervisor will oversee, guide, and manage utility and construction-oriented projects, primarily focusing on Shermco's SaskPower initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with the SaskPower-focused Engineer/Project Manager, the Electrical Services Manager, assigned site crews, and other leadership within the Saskatchewan Operations team. The Supervisor will be dedicated to enhancing Shermco's services to SaskPower, fostering long-term relationships with this key client, and aligning with Shermco's strategic growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide effective leadership, mentorship, and direction to crew leaders and site teams, ensuring daily goals are met. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace, encouraging open communication. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety, ensuring all team members prioritize safety as a fundamental behavior. Ensure compliance with company policies and site-specific standards. Direct the overall supervision and coordination of work assignments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project timelines. Collaborate closely with the Engineer/Project Manager and Electrical Services Manager to meet productivity and quality expectations. Manage site-specific procurement and oversee subcontractor activities to ensure effective project execution. Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain open lines of communication with team members regarding safety practices. Evaluate project outcomes and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Assist in the training and development of team members, promoting a culture of safety and excellence. Qualifications: Registered Red Seal Interprovincial Electrical Journeyman Ticket. Minimum of 7 years of industrial experience. At least 3 years of supervisory experience. Familiarity with SaskPower construction projects is preferred. Strong understanding of electrical construction and maintenance techniques. Excellent leadership and supervision skills. Ability to assess and mitigate safety risks effectively. Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. Willingness to travel as required for project needs. Other Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of work. Ability to remain calm and positive under pressure. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
