Our team in the resource division, which encompasses both Mining and Industrial, serves clients nationwide. Over the years, we have cultivated a diverse array of services, including economic assessments, project oversight, detailed design, procurement, site management, commissioning, and industrial programming. This role is situated within the Resources division (industrial and mining) of WSP. This division offers a comprehensive suite of services to industrial and mining operators, including all engineering services. The Project Controller will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team focused on planning and executing new infrastructure projects or modifications to existing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish project structure (WBS) in line with established methodologies.
  • Contribute to the development of the Project Management Plan (PMP).
  • Prepare and monitor subcontractor purchase orders and inter-company agreements (ICA).
  • Develop and revise schedules in collaboration with the project manager and discipline leaders.
  • Track project expenditures, prepare progress analyses and reports, including earned value management and various performance metrics to assess current status and support decision-making.
  • Identify, communicate, and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Assess the current project cost situation and provide comprehensive project forecasts (EAC & ETC).
  • Monitor project performance against forecasts by analyzing actual data, reviewing cost variances, and generating relevant reports for project management.
  • Document lessons learned throughout the project.
  • Create project monitoring reports for stakeholders.
  • Engage in coordination meetings.
  • Validate and track invoicing.
  • Manage change requests and trends, providing regular updates.
  • Identify and monitor deliverables to effectively track progress.
  • Assist in identifying project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Office suite (Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook).
  • Dynamic, proactive, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong initiative and organizational capabilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective remote work capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-sufficient and diligent in project follow-ups and reminders.
  • Additional training in engineering management, project management, document control, or procurement is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards.
