Job Description

As a key member of our Excavation Services team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our excavation projects, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Coordinate and supervise excavation projects, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of excavation operators, grades people, and flaggers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure that all excavation work is carried out in a safe and controlled manner, identifying and mitigating potential risks and hazards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and ensure that all excavation work meets the required quality standards, identifying and addressing any defects or issues promptly.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with project superintendents, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project requirements are met and that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, with a minimum of 5 years of experience running excavators.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Extensive knowledge of excavation techniques, including earthworks, demolition, remediation, and reclamation. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Education and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant certifications and training in excavation operations and safety.
