We are currently in search of a Mechanical Technician to execute the installation and maintenance of mechanical systems, equipment, and piping.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN

Reporting to the Foreman, your responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and maintaining mechanical systems on vessels under construction or in dry dock;
  • Utilizing lifting equipment, disassembling and reassembling machinery and equipment, managing parts, and participating in job completion testing as directed;
  • Installing and maintaining piping systems;
  • Overseeing the maintenance and repair of machinery and operational equipment;
  • Conducting preventive inspections and routine maintenance tasks;
  • Inspecting and repairing machinery or stationary rolling equipment as required;
  • Executing any additional tasks assigned by your Foreman;
  • Engaging in and supporting the initiatives of the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies in mechanics, plumbing and heating, or related fields;
  • Proficiency in diesel mechanics;
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in various mechanical roles;
  • Experience in marine mechanics is an asset;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Strong manual dexterity;
  • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to various tasks;
  • Capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and outdoors;
  • Willingness to travel outside the city and occasionally outside the province.
