About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Department Manager to join our team at BBA Consultants. As a key member of our Power Systems and Automation department, you will be responsible for managing the department's human, financial, and material resources, as well as overseeing the progress of activities to achieve operational efficiency objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise consulting services for power system studies, including short-circuit, power flow, protection coordination, arc-flash hazards, harmonics, transients, modeling, insulation coordination, and other related studies.
  • Develop department members' technical skills through training, work methods, and other initiatives, and actively participate in recruiting and hiring qualified personnel to achieve BBA's strategic objectives.
  • Develop relationships with clients and prepare competitive proposals to secure new business opportunities.
  • Actively participate in projects in your field of expertise as a technical contributor or project manager.
  • Monitor and assess employees under your supervision, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with the internal Innovation and Practice teams to increase department efficiency and ensure a structured approach to project delivery.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in power systems and MV and HV apparatus.
  • Intermediate knowledge of testing at client sites.
  • General knowledge of power system software, including ETAP, EMTP-RV, and CYME.
  • Bilingual (English and French) with the ability to draft technical documents in both languages.
