About the Role

The Avon Maitland District School Board is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Support Specialist to support the daily maintenance and operations of our Elementary (K-8) and/or Secondary schools located in Huron and Perth counties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine building maintenance tasks, including:
  • Lighting and electrical repairs
  • Grounds maintenance and snow removal
  • Cleaning and inspecting roofs
  • Operating and maintaining equipment
  • Performing minor repairs and health and safety checks
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in one or more trade disciplines (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry)
  • Excellent interpersonal, professional, and organizational skills
  • Ability to use a computer (e.g., Google Suite, Smart Find)
  • Experience handling machinery (e.g., buffing machine, lawn mowers, snow blowers)
  • Knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies
What We Offer
  • Daily rate: $19.31 per hour + vacation pay
  • Long-term assignment rate: $19.31 per hour + vacation pay
