About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Advisor
    • Provide expert advice to researchers on research policy interpretation, managing exceptions, and issue resolution.
    • Help faculties develop, implement, and manage research policy-related procedures.
    • Coordinate, promote, and deliver training on research development and administration-related best practices.
  • Issue Resolver
    • Provide requested research administration-related data and analytics for key decision-making.
    • Resolve research administration and research development-related issues and concerns.
    • Proactively identify potential issues and offer creative solutions.
  • Relationship Manager
    • Develop and maintain positive working relationships within assigned areas.
    • Facilitate research partnerships with the Vice-Provost Indigenous Programming & Research Office.

  • Researcher Support

Requirements
  • A graduate degree (Master's) is required.
  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience in an academic research environment.
  • Experience developing, writing, and/or editing research funding applications/proposals.
  • Excellent active listening, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience working independently within a large institutional environment.
  • Cultural sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
