Job Title: Executive Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our team at CharityVillage. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing our community outreach programs, managing our events, and developing strategic partnerships with local authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Outreach: Develop and implement community education programs, including door-to-door campaigns, media releases, and participation in local events.
  • Program Management: Oversee the Gleaning Coordinator, coordinate with local agencies, and manage our social media platforms.
  • Event Management: Manage and grow our yearly events, including the Burger Challenge and Bear Awareness Day.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to support our initiatives.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with municipal and regional authorities to advance our mission.
  • Reporting and Administration: Prepare regular reports for our Board of Directors and manage our budget.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and store our equipment, including a farmer's market booth.
  • Grant Writing and Fundraising: Identify and apply for funding opportunities to support our activities.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Proven experience in program management, community outreach, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and strategic planning skills, with a track record of achieving organizational goals.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Experience with fund development, including grant writing and donor management.
  • Knowledge of wildlife management, particularly bear behavior, is an asset.
  • Proficiency with digital platforms, including social media, is an asset.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit management and working with a board is an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle.
