CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is seeking a Behavioural Specialist to join our team at CASA House, a live-in program for teens who require support with significant mental health and/or addictions challenges.
The Behavioural Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing individual treatment plans, behavioural plans, and safety plans for adolescents with internalizing and externalizing difficulties. This will involve implementing therapeutic models of individual, group, and family therapy, as well as providing leadership and direction to a team of Therapy Support Assistants.
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a behavioural science program, such as psychology, education, or social work, with Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst certification. Experience with mood concerns, learning disabilities, executive dysfunction, and/or personality disorder traits is preferred. Previous leadership experience is also an asset.
The Behavioural Specialist will be responsible for managing the daily staff schedule, including delegating task assignments, caseload, and assigning breaks. They will also participate in program planning, attend and constructively participate in program and clinical team meetings, and monitor the follow-up/action items required of Therapy Support Assistants.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of evidence-based cognitive and behavioural principles and will be able to develop and implement effective treatment plans. They will also be able to provide leadership and direction to a team of Therapy Support Assistants and ensure open reporting about patient safety events.
