Overview: The Cutter Operator is accountable for overseeing the cutting operations utilizing advanced water gun and mechanical cutting technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the efficiency of the cutting apparatus through various assessments, including tube alignment, cut precision, and material integrity.
• Manage and enhance waste output from the cutting zone, focusing on minimizing slivers, nubbins, and ADR cubes.
• Disassemble, modify, and reassemble cutter heads, while also performing blade sharpening as necessary.
• Supervise tuber temperatures to ensure optimal conditions, preventing excessive breakage or cutter obstructions.
• Operate and adjust the Welliver camera system to maintain effective cutting operations throughout each shift.
• Uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards in the cutter area, adhering to 5S principles and scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Assist and provide coverage for Starch and ADR Operators, demonstrating proficiency in all equipment related to defect elimination.
• Oversee the operations of the length optimizer, ensuring its effective management.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including the entry of SPC data.
• Execute scheduled sanitation activities, including high-pressure washing, scrubbing, and waste management.
• Conduct daily quality assessments to ensure product consistency and evaluate equipment performance, recording findings in the designated database for real-time management and analysis.
• Perform additional related tasks as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Demonstrated history of safe work practices.
• Familiarity with Infinity, Process Control, OCAP, and basic computer operations.
• Experience in the safe handling of chemicals in compliance with WHMIS regulations.
• Strong communication abilities, with a capacity to follow detailed instructions and foster positive relationships with supervisors and colleagues.
• Willingness to work on a rotating shift schedule.
• Experience with process control testing and data entry into the designated database.

• Proficient in the safe handling of chemicals as per WHMIS guidelines.
• Willingness to obtain necessary certifications, including Forklift License, Confined Space & Rescue, Personal Fall Protection, and Scissor/Boom Lift.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to manage temperature and humidity in accordance with company heat stress policies.
• Physically capable of performing job functions, including lifting up to 40-50 lbs and climbing stairs.
