Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting and preparing meats for sale, as well as maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Cut and trim meats to customer specifications
  • Prepare special cuts of meat for display and sale
  • Wrap and package prepared meats for customer purchase
  • Remove bones from meat and poultry
  • Weigh meats for sale and ensure accurate labeling
  • Cut and prepare fish and shellfish for display and sale
  • Sell meats to customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Supervise and train other butchers and meat cutters as needed
  • Grind meats for use in sausages and other products
Requirements:
  • Meat Cutter Trade Certification
  • Provincial or territorial certification
  • 1-2 years of experience in a butcher shop or meat department
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
