Position Overview
As a crucial member of our Assisted Living Programs, the Overnight Support Worker plays a vital role in providing care and support to residents during nighttime hours. This position involves being present on-site to ensure the safety and well-being of clients while assisting with their nightly routines.
Key Responsibilities
- Remain on-site overnight, ready to respond to any unusual needs that may arise with clients.
- Assist clients with their morning and evening routines, including meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks.
- Administer medications and supervise clients in accordance with established guidelines and individual care plans.
- Ensure compliance with house rules and respond to emergencies as per established protocols.
- Maintain accurate records, including logbooks and incident reports.
- Secure the premises by managing alarms and ensuring all doors and windows are locked.
- Perform additional related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Education:
- A diploma in a relevant human or social services field.
Certifications:
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR.
- Valid Naloxone Certificate.
- Food Safe Certificate.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Training.
Experience:
- A minimum of one year of recent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
Availability Requirements:
Casual Support Workers must be available for a minimum of 10 shifts per month, including:
- Working 2 weekends each month.
- Completing 5 overnight shifts each month.
- Availability on major holidays.
