Optical Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Optical Specialist to join our team at Tri Vision Optical. As an Optical Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing client eyeglasses or contact lenses, obtaining specifications from prescriptions, and supervising activities of other opticians or student opticians.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze Client Eyeglasses or Contact Lenses
Measure the client's eye curvature, pupillary distance, and bridge width using optical measuring devices.
Obtain Specifications from PrescriptionsObtain specifications for eyeglasses and contact lenses from a prescription prepared by an ophthalmologist or optometrist.
Supervise Activities of Other Opticians or Student OpticiansSupervise or manage activities of other opticians or student opticians.
Advise on Use and Care of Contact LensesAdvise clients on the use and care of contact lenses.
Grind and Polish LensesArrange for grinding or polishing of lenses or grind and polish lenses.
Adjust Finished EyeglassesAdjust finished eyeglasses to fit the client.
Work EnvironmentThe Optical Specialist will work in a fast-paced optical store environment, interacting with clients and colleagues to provide excellent customer service.
Requirements- Licensure
Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities is required.
Education and ExperienceA college or CEGEP education and 1-2 years of experience in the optical industry are required.
Skills and AbilitiesThe Optical Specialist must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient, and a team player.
