About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Landscape Technician to join our team at Creative Roots Landscaping Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality landscaping services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trimming and Pruning: Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective, including crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, and vista pruning.
  • Site Assessment: Survey and assess designated sites to identify areas that require attention.
  • Lawn and Garden Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products as needed.
  • Treatment Applications: Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting with treatment solutions.
  • Health and Safety: Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease, and assess the health of lawns.
  • Plant Knowledge: Plan and co-ordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental uses, and other purposes.
  • Physical Demands: Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens, plant and move trees, and perform tree removal tasks.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to work independently, attention to detail, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, and ability to distinguish between colours.
  • Tools and Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and rain gear.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, organized, reliability, team player, and punctuality.
