Analytical Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Analytical Scientist - Biologics to join our dynamic team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate analytical support for process development projects as part of a collaborative team.
  • Develop innovative bioanalytical methodologies for analyzing biologics using techniques such as CE-SDS, UV-VIS, cIEF, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, qPCR, MS, Western blot, and HPLC.
  • Conduct thorough literature searches to evaluate modern analytical methods and patents.
  • Collaborate with fellow scientists, technicians, and students in the development of analytical methods. Occasionally supervise and train others in executing these methods.
  • Write comprehensive research and development test methods, procedures, protocols, and analytical development reports.
  • Transfer technology to technical staff within both the Process Development and Quality groups.
  • Maintain meticulous, real-time records of all laboratory activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs and departmental requirements.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Master's or PhD degree is considered an asset.
  • Experience with quality by design (QbD) and design of experiments (DoE) methodologies to measure critical quality attributes, understand design spaces, and identify critical process parameters is highly valued.
  • Technical proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and techniques for the analysis of pDNA and mRNA is an asset.
  • Experience with analytical chromatography software (empower, Mass lynx, UNIFI, etc.) is an asset.
