Business Analyst - Infrastructure Cost Management

Position Overview:

Electronic Arts stands as a leading name in the entertainment industry, engaging millions globally through a diverse range of top-tier video games.

The DevOps division is in search of a Business Analyst to enhance our team. This group, comprising Project Managers and Engineers, is dedicated to supporting a vast video game ecosystem across various public cloud platforms. Our mission is to guide game development teams in making informed decisions regarding infrastructure architecture and financial investments. As we advance automation to empower developers, gaining deeper insights into our spending and optimization strategies becomes essential. We collaborate closely with EA's Production Infrastructure & Engineering (PI&E) team on budgeting for infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively to translate technical requirements into financial terms with various teams, including finance and technical departments.
  • Monitor and present critical insights regarding our infrastructure expenditures to partners and leadership.
  • Create automated dashboards for external stakeholders to access financial data seamlessly.
  • Project future infrastructure costs, develop queries, and analyze data to support forecasting, cost modeling, and chargebacks, while providing valuable insights into the factors driving infrastructure costs.
  • Influence and facilitate strategic decision-making; model business scenarios and deliver comprehensive insights into data and complex issues using suitable methodologies and performance metrics.
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of infrastructure costs and workload consumption patterns in cloud environments, including familiarity with cloud providers and configurations (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proficient in data visualization tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience with SQL and related database tools for querying intricate data sets.
  • A B.A./B.S. degree in STEM, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant fields.
