Job Title: Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team at Rex Power Magnetics. As a key member of our Power Transformer department, you will play a crucial role in preparing digital 3D models, mechanical layout drawings, and control wiring drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain Rex's digital record of standard / parametric enclosure assemblies (Power or distribution).
  • Review customer submittals to develop conceptual physical arrangement of transformer components, and generate layout within SolidWorks.
  • Cooperate with design engineer and production staff to ensure efficient production and assembly.
  • Prepare reports on costing for enclosures; work to reduce scrap, rework, and inefficient handling.
  • Prepare mechanical drawings for production, including Bill of Materials, assembly and welding drawings, and detailed views for inspection and approval.
  • Participate in studies to improve standards compliance of our design methodologies (ie, seismic approval, NEMA ingress rating, etc).
Requirements:
  • Secondary Education, or diploma/degree from technical college with a focus on industrial electrical equipment.
  • High degree of familiarity with Electrical distribution equipment (ie: Transformers, switchgear, cable ducts, etc).
  • High level of proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Experience with manufacturing (ie, laser CNC, turret press, bus-bar processing etc) is beneficial.
