Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Plan Group, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical building systems and experience in ICI Design Build/P3 project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and lead integrated pursuits with a mechanical focus, working with multi-discipline groups in estimation and operations.
  • Read and understand issued Statements of Requirements, review job specifications and drawings, and develop competitive pricing.
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders to gather information and clarify specifications.
  • Work with design teams to ensure efficient designs with cost control at the forefront.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing for quotations.
  • Assist in researching new systems and resources to identify changes that increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Participate in bid review meetings and handover meetings with the Project management team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of Engineering experience in the Mechanical Consultant or Construction industry.
  • Experience in ICI Design Build/P3 project delivery is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of building codes and standards, including ASHRAE, OBC, NBC, NFPA, and CSA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with Accubid Pro and/or Enterprise is an asset.
  • Ability to travel and attend meetings at Architects and Consultants.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and NMS specifications is an asset.
