About the Role

Key Responsibilities

The Climate and Environmental Consultant will be responsible for conducting professional consulting work, applying a sound understanding of climate change mitigation and adaptation knowledge in the planning and execution of projects. The successful candidate will work independently and assist in the coordination of complex assignments, contributing to BMT's brand reputation for superior quality technical work with a high customer focus.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and communicate climate change resilience and adaptation strategies, understanding the broader context of its relevance to government and private entities.
  • Provide defendable, strategic, and in some cases statutory advice to clients in defence, energy, and resource sectors.
  • Use technical expertise to support the evaluation and execution of climate-related projects, ensuring projects are executed to time and budget constraints and to client satisfaction.
  • Project manage a range of projects with a high degree of oversight and planning, ensuring projects meet quality, safety, and environmental standards.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainability, and environmental consulting. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a relevant area of study, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in a consulting, government, or applied research capacity undertaking projects in Canada and/or the U.S.
