Position Overview

The Early Childhood Education Assistant plays a vital role in nurturing and supporting the development of young children. This position involves working closely with early childhood educators to create a safe and engaging environment for infants and toddlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Childcare Duties: Provide essential care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Program Support: Assist educators in implementing programs that foster children's physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth.
  • Activity Leadership: Lead engaging activities such as storytelling, singing, and excursions to local attractions.
  • Resource Management: Order necessary supplies and equipment for daily activities.
  • Record Keeping: Help maintain accurate records under the guidance of early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Creative Expression: Encourage children to explore their creativity through art, music, and physical play.
  • Snack Preparation: Prepare nutritious snacks and organize spaces for meal and rest times.
  • Observation and Reporting: Submit written observations regarding children's progress to educators or supervisors.
  • Collaboration: Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's development and any concerns.
  • Environment Maintenance: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for children.
Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role.
Skills and Attributes
  • Punctual and dependable with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Flexible and reliable team player with good judgment.
  • Creative and capable of multitasking effectively.
Work Environment

This is a permanent position requiring 35 hours of work per week, with English as the primary language of communication.
