We are seeking enthusiastic and talented journalists to join our Radio Room team at the Toronto Star. As a Radio Room intern, you will work alongside our experienced staff to provide quick tips to the newsroom and sometimes do original reporting for all our platforms.

The ideal candidate will be calm, well-organized, and able to juggle several tasks at once. They will also be able to persuade officials to talk and be prepared to interview victims and family members touched by crime or accidents.

This is a paid, contract position that requires a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a passion for journalism. If you are fluent in a language other than English, please include that information.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor social media and other sources for breaking news
  • Provide quick tips to the newsroom
  • Do original reporting for all our platforms
  • Interview victims and family members touched by crime or accidents
Requirements
  • Enthusiastic and talented journalists with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Fluency in a language other than English (optional)
