Your ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will leverage your expertise in creating ultra-low-loss packaging solutions for chips, contributing to the advancement of our rack-scale quantum computer technology.
- Design and Testing: You will be instrumental in the design and evaluation of components that constitute our intricate photonic full-build assemblies.
- Optomechanical Solutions: Your focus will be on developing robust optomechanical and packaging solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with thermo-mechanical and stress simulations to ensure optimal stability and uniformity of photonic integrated circuits.
- Hands-on experience in the optical and electrical packaging of sophisticated photonic systems.
- Proficiency in wafer-scale and system-level characterization and analysis.
- A self-motivated attitude, capable of working independently and collaboratively across various disciplines in a dynamic environment.
- A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Over 5 years of experience in delivering photonic packaging solutions within an industry or supporting role.
- Experience in optomechanical CAD simulation, including understanding the impacts of wire bonding and die attach.
- A strong grasp of device assembly costs, testing costs, and yield optimization.
- Experience in the simulation, fabrication, and testing of complex active and passive photonic structures and MEMS.
- Familiarity with root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA).
