Position Summary:
NPA WorldWide is excited to announce a vacancy for a Team Leader in Sanitary and Stormwater located in Lakeshore, Ontario.
This position will report directly to the Division Leader of Engineering & Infrastructure and will oversee the comprehensive administration, performance, and management of engineering and infrastructure initiatives related to sanitary and stormwater systems.
The responsibilities include supporting Corridor Studies, Water, Wastewater, and Stormwater Master Plans, Environmental Assessments, Flood Mitigation Projects, Protection Frameworks, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute hydraulic modeling analyses for wastewater and drainage systems utilizing specialized software.
- Provide technical direction on storm and sanitary system operations.
- Offer technical insights on various development projects, including sewer systems and stormwater management facilities.
- Assist in defining development requirements and standards to address servicing and flooding capabilities.
- Manage sewer inspection reports and recommend improvements for system efficiency.
- Oversee condition assessments of storm and sanitary infrastructure.
- Collaborate with other divisions to ensure effective implementation of mitigation programs.
- Supervise the Municipality's Flood Mitigation and Protection Frameworks, and develop and support the execution of the Flood Rapid Response Plan.
- Prepare technical documentation and conduct design reviews related to flooding, drainage, and infrastructure resilience.
- Coordinate field inspections and ensure adherence to municipal standards and regulations.
- Lead the Flood Task Force committee and assist in flood forecasting and monitoring activities.
- Liaise with governmental agencies and neighboring municipalities regarding enhanced stormwater standards, flooding, shoreline mitigation, and servicing constraints.
Qualifications:
- A postsecondary degree or diploma in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resource Engineering, or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resource Engineering, preferably within municipal environments.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a municipal or related setting.
- Possession of a Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng) or eligibility for licensing within 6 months. Alternatively, candidates may be in good standing with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
- Proven experience in stormwater management, storm and sanitary design and analysis, and flood mitigation.
- Familiarity with stormwater and wastewater modeling software and the ability to prepare technical reports.
- Knowledge of Federal and Provincial legislation related to municipal engineering, including the Environmental Assessment Act, Highway Traffic Act, Drainage Act, Public Transportation Highway Improvement Act, Local Improvement Act, and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Demonstrated ability to establish professional relationships and communicate effectively with the community and public.
- A valid Class G Driver's license.
- Must maintain a clear police clearance.
- Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
