Project Management and Implementation:
Oversee the execution of Neighbourhood Renewal initiatives, including both operational and strategic projects, while managing resources and finances effectively.
Lead diverse teams comprising consultants, contractors, clients, stakeholders, and internal personnel.
Monitor and report on project milestones through comprehensive plans and timelines, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
Authorize payments to contractors in line with contractual agreements.Administer procurement and contract processes, including drafting tender documents, evaluating proposals/bids, and making acceptance recommendations.
Review technical drawings and specifications, preparing necessary contract documentation.
Generate detailed cost estimates grounded in solid technical knowledge and expertise.
Conduct thorough risk management activities for all projects.
Document all project actions in accordance with established Project Management methodologies.
Manage warranty processes and coordinate the resolution of issues during the warranty period.
Conduct project closure activities, including obtaining approvals, performing post-project assessments, and capturing lessons learned.
Evaluate and endorse the work delivered by engineering consultants and contractors, applying technical knowledge related to municipal roadway construction.
Ensure that appropriate specifications and standards are utilized based on expert knowledge in municipal roadway construction.Utilize technical expertise to foresee, identify, and address potential project issues.
Provide specialized engineering insights related to constructability, risk evaluation, and value engineering challenges.
Apply engineering knowledge to identify, analyze, and resolve intricate technical issues within Neighbourhood Renewal projects.
Foster and maintain stakeholder relationships that contribute to project success.
Address all project inquiries in accordance with departmental and branch protocols.
Lead and participate in steering committee meetings, site visits, and other project-related discussions.
Possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline such as Civil, Transportation, Structural, or Environmental Engineering.
Have a minimum of 4 years of experience, combining transportation engineering and project management expertise.
Training in project management, financial management, or other leadership areas is advantageous.
Experience in reviewing, preparing, and managing contracts for municipal roadway construction projects is essential.
Proven experience in managing and collaborating with external consultants and contractors.
Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in project delivery.
Familiarity with relevant codes, legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures (OH&S, Environmental).
Strong technical capabilities in construction processes related to municipal roadway construction.
Excellent project management skills, including a solid understanding of project management methodologies and techniques.
Proven planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in report writing and presentations.
